Happy Holidays! We’re going on Vacation / Revamping the site :)

Hello All,

I wanted to wish everyone happy holidays, hope you’re enjoying delicious treats and holiday cheer. It’s hard to believe that 2014 is almost over.

We are going to take a quick vacation and revamp the site– All older posts are going on edit mode so they’ll be up and running in 2015. I have a few space constraints that I am working to expand (too many photos, yum!)

Eight (8) Korean BBQ in Southern California-- So many different types of marinated pork belly!

Champagne, sparkling wine, what a perfect apertif for holiday meals (or sipping in California winters, which still consist of 75 degree weather)

I don't think I'll ever get enough of good, fresh, schnitzel. What a treat!

Is it really December? Lounging on a balcony while enjoying lunch overlooking the Sheraton Rio Hotel private beach!

Little did I know, this beautiful spread would give me the worst food poisoning I've ever experienced!

One of the most memorable meals of my entire life. What a gorgeous spread of food on the beach…

We went on so many adventures and so much food! I put together a calendar of all the places we ate at in 2014– Promise these posts will go back up when the revamp is completed.

January – Prague, Czech Republic
Who could forget the roasted suckling pig at the market!

February – Osaka, Japan
Ichigo Daifuku, the most amazing Japanese desserts ever. Strawberry inside a layer of cake, inside a layer of fresh cream, inside a layer of red bean, inside a layer of mochi… Sorry, turducken, this blows you way out of the world.

March – Barcelona and Madrid, Spain
Tapas, vino blanco, sangria… bueno! Bueno!

April – Tel Aviv, Israel
Hummus, falafel, fresh juice, beaches, 20 small dishes in one sitting…

May – Mexico City, Mexico
Oaxacan cooking, the most amazing street tacos from Prado, and the notoriously disgusting cricket margarita

June – Manchester and London, UK
BBQ, “salad” on my sandwich, fresh brews, English tea time, ice cream in front of Buckingham palace, the KPMG river boat tour!

July – Paris and Marseille, France; Casablanca, Morocco
One of the most amazing culinary excursions I’ve ever embarked on.

August – Miami, Florida USA
Cuban food from Puerto Sagua! Wow!
Also, Mangoes in South Beach, who could say no to a 3-story Latin bar?

September – Dusseldorf and Munich, Germany
Oktoberfest! Brews, tents, pretzels, bratwurst, schnitzel…

October – Columbus, Ohio USA
I honestly don’t think I ate anything on this trip. The Steak and Shake across the street from my hotel didn’t really hit the sweet spot; plus, I had no time to get lunch or dinner at the airport with tight connections. I call this the “starvation-equalizer” trip!

November – Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Brazilian steakhouses, tapas, caipirinha, caipisake, Japanese food, amazing desserts… Oh Brazil, how I long for your sunny beaches and delicious food!

December – Miami, Florida USA
Yardbird in South Coast was the perfect mix of Southern comfort food with a modern American twist! Oh, and of course, sushi and Cuban food from Puerto Sagua!

Having traveled around the world a few times this year, I’m certainly happy to be spending time with family and friends at home for the holidays. As a teaser, looking towards 2015, I’ve already got trips scheduled for Moscow, Russia in January and Taipei, Taiwan in February!

Take care and stay warm this holiday season!
